01What is BucketDeck?
BucketDeck is an open-source, web-based Amazon S3 browser from BoringCloud. It gives developers and teams a visual way to browse buckets, upload and download files, and inspect objects.
02Which storage provider is available now?
Amazon S3 is the only storage connection available in the current product. We will announce and document additional integrations only when they are ready.
03Can I self-host BucketDeck?
Yes. Self-hosting is central to the product: it lets you keep the interface near your infrastructure, control deployment, and avoid sending storage credentials through an unrelated hosted dashboard.
04Is BucketDeck free?
The BucketDeck source code will be available to use under its published open-source license. Any future hosted or team offering will be clearly separated from the open-source product.
05Does BucketDeck replace the AWS CLI?
Not entirely. The AWS CLI remains excellent for scripts and automation. BucketDeck is for the visual work around S3: exploring unfamiliar buckets, checking object details, moving files, and helping teammates who do not live in a terminal.
